Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to manage accounting and planning preparation, support accounting functions, reconcile accounts, coordinate activities, and lead project and process improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of GAAP, FCA, and internal standards, along with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FCA, and internal standards.
• Verify, code, and input data for invoices.
• Perform accounts payable, receivable, and fixed assets duties.
• Reconcile client cash accounts within thresholds.
• Maintain Board of Directors files, including payments and tax documents.
• Assist team with system and cash process balancing.
• Research and escalate issues for resolution.
• Prepare journal entries as needed.
• Process accounts and data entry tasks.
• Reconcile accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with departments and auditors on requests.
• Assist with ICFR controls related to access and vendor reviews.
• Monitor close cycles for AP and FA, including income reporting and asset capitalization.
• Participate in projects, test plans, and documentation.
• Lead process improvements and communicate changes.
• Act as liaison with the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ years in large company environments
• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP, Macros)
• Experience with general ledger, month-end, reporting, 1099, and controls

Work Environment

Fully remote with quarterly travel to St. Paul, paid for. Local candidates may work in-office once a week with paid parking. Long-term role with a 10% bonus potential. Involves significant project work, including system implementations.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
