The Assistant Chief of Police is the second highest ranking member of the Police Department and a command rank Police Officer appointed by the Chief of Police. Serves at the direction of the Chief of Police as a Department Commander, effectively planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and otherwise supervising and managing departmental personnel, activities, and resources. Examples of Duties Provides supervision, support, and management of the departmental divisions, providing effective and efficient leadership and coordination of resources and activities. Assists in the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policies and priorities for each assigned service and/or operational area; oversees the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and plans related to departmental services and operations.
