Technical Sales Manager (Remote) role at Samson Rope Technologies

Samson, the worldwide leader in high performance cordage, is seeking a Technical Sales Manager (TSM). The TSM will act as the primary field representative to end users, distributor/partners, industry associations, and technical organizations. The TSM will be responsible for creating profitable revenue growth by managing technical sales projects with short and long lifecycles within the Samson strategy, in a team environment and through existing distribution channels. They will practice a high level of business ethics and professionalism while adhering to safety and quality guidelines in accordance with Samson strategy and core values.

This position is open to candidates located in the Houston, TX metro area.

What Youll Do

  • Present, sell, and attain maximum net income from company products and services to current and potential customers in accordance with company strategy, value propositions, and competitive advantage.
  • Experience in setting and reaching forecasted revenue targets.
  • Manage distribution channels, independent manufacturers representatives, and other methods to maximize benefit for Samson and the end-user.
  • Ensure proper representation and recognition of the Samson brand to end-users and educate distribution accordingly.
  • Provide strategic direction for internal development projects and technical and sales support to other staff.
  • Act as company representative to technical and industry associations and certifying bodies.
  • Responsible for all field sales activities in an assigned geographic territory and market or sales division.
  • Develop and achieve short- and long-term sales goals for the companys products in the assigned territories and markets.
  • Make field visits, contact customers, distributors and end-users; attend conventions and exhibitions as required.
  • Collaborate with other field sales managers to maximize results for the company.
  • Network with division sales managers on customer contacts and application assistance as required within assigned areas.
  • Communicate regularly with Customer Service and other teams regarding customer, market, order, and product information.
  • Be technically knowledgeable of applications within the area of responsibility and provide consultation and technical solutions (e.g., splicing, terminations, chafe protection, fiber types, rope construction).
  • Remain knowledgeable of all pertinent Samson literature and technical bulletins relevant to market and category.
  • Create various sales reports to management (call reports with action items, travel schedules, expense reports, etc.) and communicate market information.
  • Prepare market and customer sales forecasts by product as required.

What You Should Have

Education
  • Required: Bachelors Degree in a technical field or business; 5+ years of sales experience may substitute for a degree.

Experience
  • Required: Minimum of 3 years of previous sales and technical experience with emphasis on profitable growth and value-based selling.
  • Desired: Experience using CRM software, such as Salesforce.

Compensation

Targeted hiring range for this position is $90,000 $115,000. The full range for this position is $90,879 - $135,319 annually. Hiring rate will depend on qualifications and experience.
