LotusWorks is looking for a highly experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Construction Superintendent to oversee field execution and installation of critical I&C systems for a state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing facility in Goodnight, TX. This position is responsible for supervising craft labor and subcontractors, ensuring safe and quality installation, and driving schedule adherence for all I&C scope of work.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all field construction activities related to Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) systems, ensuring timely, high-quality installation of instrumentation, PLC/DCS systems, analyzers, sensors, and control panels.
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and craft labor to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams to plan system tie-ins, manage construction sequencing, and resolve field challenges proactively.
  • Interpret and review P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics to verify proper installation, identify discrepancies, and drive resolution in coordination with engineering and QA/QC teams.
  • Ensure strict compliance with SEMICON industry standards, client requirements, and site-specific EHS protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety reporting.
  • Conduct and lead daily and weekly construction meetings to report progress, address schedule risks, and communicate key updates to project stakeholders.
  • Manage quality control processes, including the development of redlines, punch lists, and turnover documentation for commissioning and system handover.
  • Maintain project documentation, including inspection reports, daily logs, and safety records, ensuring alignment with audit and compliance requirements.
  • Interface with project management and commissioning teams to support system start-up, functional testing, and seamless turnover to operations.
    Champion a culture of safety and accountability, continuously reinforcing best practices on-site and promoting proactive hazard identification and mitigation.
Skills Required:
  • 5+ years of I&C field supervision experience in semiconductor or other high-tech/industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of I&C construction methods, loop checks, instrument calibration, and panel installations.
  • Excellent ability to interpret and verify technical drawings (P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics).
  • Deep familiarity with SEMICON safety and quality standards.
  • Proven leadership in managing subcontractors and coordinating cross-discipline field activities.
  • Skilled in managing site safety, QA/QC, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and client expectations.
  • OSHA 10 Certification required.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
Education / Licenses / Certifications
  • Trade Certification or Degree in Engineering, Instrumentation, or Construction Management preferred.
  • Proof of education and certifications will be required where applicable.
