Position: Melt Shop Forklift / Remote Crane Operator
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate large industrial forklifts and other heavy equipment carts to properly load and unload material, ladles, etc. within the department and to other areas of the facility as needed
- Operate a remote handheld crane in the Melt Shop
- Comfortable moving material and heavy loads up to 28k pounds
- Comfortable working around melted iron and melting/pouring iron operations
- Ability to maneuver in congested areas while operating in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties within the Melt Shop as assigned
- At lest 2 years prior forklift and remote crane experience is required.
- Must have valid state driver's license.
- Established skills in operating equipment in a safe manner.
- Demonstrated competency in loading, unloading, and stacking materials.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Heavy manufacturing environment
- Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.
- Perform physical activities that require use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
