Director of Sales

Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to drive revenue growth and expand our market presence in the waste management industry. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, identifying new business opportunities, and analyzing market trends to stay competitive. You will cultivate strong client relationships, represent the company at industry events, and collaborate with brokers to generate leads. As a leader, you will manage and coach the sales team, ensuring targets are met while working cross-functionally with other departments. Staying informed on industry regulations and advancements will be key to shaping innovative sales strategies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including expanding market share, penetrating new markets, and diversifying service offerings.
  2. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to adjust sales strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  3. Develop and maintain sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics to track progress and evaluate the effectiveness of sales efforts.
  4. Lead and manage the sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance and attainment of targets.
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments such as operations, marketing, and finance to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  6. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the sales team, fostering creativity and adaptability to meet evolving market demands.
  7. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to enhance business opportunities and drive revenue growth.
  8. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
  9. Maintain positive relationships with brokers to ensure continued relationships and cultivate business opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. 10+ years of experience in a sales role.
  2. 5+ years of experience in a sales management role.
  3. Experience within the waste management industry or related fields such as environmental services, recycling, or utilities is preferred.
  4. Proven track record of winning new business, retaining key accounts, and driving revenue growth.
  5. Experience managing and developing sales teams, providing coaching, training, and guidance.
  6. Experience in developing and implementing strategic sales plans aligned with business objectives.
