JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Facilities Engineering/Safety Officer is responsible for the direction and leadership of the Engineering department and for Safety Compliance activities in the hospital. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position's major responsibility is directing the day-to-day physical plant operations, budgeting, and personnel aspects of the department. The Director works closely with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating the activities of Facilities Engineering and Safety Compliance across the hospital. This position reports to the hospital CEO with salary range of $98k-120k.
Responsibility includes planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating and directing the activities of the plant operations and maintenance functions that are necessary to maintain the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems and grounds of this hospital in an operative and safe working condition. Director also maintains performance improvement activities within the department. assures competency of all personnel and assists in formulating the budget. Ensures that departmental operations are in compliance with all state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.
