Description:

This position is responsible for developing and delivering strategic and innovative products and informational solutions to prospective customers in the Retail and Foodservice Industry. The Director of Retail Strategy will embrace an entrepreneurial approach to establish trusting relationships with purchasing agents, operators, and industry executives delivering mutual success through shared business plans. The position is ideal for a business executive who has the ability and desire to identify and influence industry and product trends with strategic partners and customers.

Organization

This role reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.

Primary Job Duties

Accountability includes strategic and business planning, customer prospect targeting, weekly reporting on activities / results, achievement of budgeted sales targets, maintenance of customer satisfaction, and the overall oversight of account success. Furthermore, developing custom solutions through project management in a collaborative environment includes working with internal support for margin management, logistics, R&D, quality control, and leadership.

1. The primary job duty of the Director of Retail Strategy is to develop and execute a strategy for acquiring and maintaining profitable sales growth from customer segments in Retail and Foodservice. This requires identifying and meeting the dynamic needs of the customer by providing solutions for shared growth.

2. The Director of Retail Strategy will have an industry perspective that promotes strategic targeting of new accounts as well as penetration opportunities and retention strategies in existing accounts.

3. The Director of Retail Strategy is responsible for internal communication advocacy across functions and leadership.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve customer experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Work closely with operations for production forecasting, logistics, and product feedback.
  • Work closely with business teams on margin management and procurement requirements.
  • Work closely with R&D for new product launches that align with customer business plans.
  • Work closely with leadership to foster long term relationships with Customer.

4. Various other duties, as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or Culinary Arts preferred. Must have a minimum of 5-years' experience in National Account sales.

Skill Requirements

Must possess effective leadership skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Sound background in meat science knowledge including carcass composition, quality, and value added. Adequate computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the employee to regularly sit, use fingers, handle / and or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arm; talk and hear. The employee will need to frequently stand and walk. This position requires the employee to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and / or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust and focus

Working Conditions

Employee may perform this position remotely from a home office that meets the requirements set out by the Company. Employee will be required to attend meetings at Company headquarters and may be required to travel frequently for business purposes.
